I’m 18-year-old male, currently living in the U.K with my parents. I have taken exams in History, Design and Geography, currently awaiting the results. If I make the grades (Unlikely), I have a place at Reading uni to study building surveying.
However I have been re-considering this choice. I would prefer a career that involved helping people, perhaps people in tough situations, rather than making money. I enjoy the outdoors and the amount of money I earn is unimportant.
Does anyone know any careers that might suite me? Or any websites I could look at?
How can I find the right career?
Well, that's a tough one.
In the US we have a site called volunteermatch.org. You scroll around and select areas that interest you and see if there is any help needed for them in your location. Perhaps the UK has something similar?
Volunteering would be a great way to not waste money trying to find what you like...and it could connect you with people and activities that you did not think about exploring. Don't give up totally on school - it is important. Finding what you like is tough - best to use all options of exploration you can.
Good Luck!
