Creationism taught in all public schools? Not in its current form, but as more of a debate against evolution. Creationism is usually argued more as a negative statement against evolution than as a scientific theory with its own supports. Trust me, I do know on this one.

Info about abortion (non bias) taught in health class? In public schools, as long Roe vs Wade remains the interpretation of current law.

A career day with reps from every military branch come to public schools? (Not recuiters, military members who will tell it like it is and not be a car salesman for the military)Yes, and I would gladly give up some of my class time to have them do so.

Would you vote for....

A gay president? Maybe, it would depend on a number of issues, mainly the issues and his (or her) stance on them.

An athiest president? Not likely, because I think an active atheist would deny too much of what religion gives to mankind in terms of moral absolutes and its impact on our nation's history.

A female president? Sure, but not Hillary. I don't trust her.

A black president? Sure, and maybe even Obama, depending upon who he is running against.

An Islamic president? Yes, but not sure who would qualify and be willing to do so.

A president that went to court for murder, but didn't get convicted? Likely not, depending upon the situation. If it was like OJ, where he (again, or she) got off on a technicality, then no way. If however, they were well and truly acquited, and the case closed with the real perpetrator, then I would consider it.

A president that was convicted of vehicular manslaughter? No, unless I was unaware of it. Boy would I be ticked if I found that out after he got in office.

A president that commited adultry? Not if I knew about it, but that sort of thing is sadly easier to keep secret than a conviction.

A president that would ban abortion? No, as it is not, strictly speaking, his right to do so as chief executive since the Supreme Court has already judged on the issue.

A president that would change welfare- only get paid for 1 kid(no more having more kids for more$) time limit, less $ overall? I'd consider it, but would need to see the whole plan before making a final decision.

DISCLAIMER: I tend to NOT vote on any one issue, so to really answer the question, I would need to know more about this supposed person.

Career Quiz? Filled one out in sixth grade cant remember website....want to do again?

When I was in 6th grade we had a field trip thing called mall of life. We took a quiz after the field trip. It asked questions like "do you like working with kids" or "Do you like mathematics or do you do well in mathematics" It was more of a survey type of quiz. You answered with the "Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, or Strongly Disagree" answer system. After you have answered you get a list of Jobs that are consistent with your likes and what types of jobs would be good for you. If anyone knows of a Career Website like this please give me the address so I can take the quiz again

Reply:Yes, I remember her. After her acting career she married a senator from, I think it was Tennessee? Something like that. At any rate, she made the politician a good wife with all those people skills, and was reputedly quite happy. Hope you get your 100 answers!

Reply:1. Yes. She was a tap dancer/singer from the 1920's and 1930's. One of the first real child stars.

2. When she stopped acting, she got married and moved out west somewhere. She started to write books, and do charity work. She's in her late 70's now. I think her name now is Shirley Temple Black.

Reply:yea a little bit
Reply:1)yes

2)no
Reply:I know who Shirley Temple is...She became an ambassador...
Reply:Shirley Temple was a child actress in the early 1930's.

She played in many roles ...most of them included the loss of one parent or divorce issues. She had her hair tied up with 50 rags each day in order to get her curls just so.

Her acting career ended shortly after her teenage years. She later got married and became Shirley Temple Black.

I believe she went into politics. Something about an ambassador. I am unsure if it was her or her husband.

After that we have not heard that much about her.

However, I still have many of her early films on VHS and still enjoy her movies. Best of luck with your paper.
Reply:she was a cute little curly haired girl who sang the great ship lolly pop, sorry but i don't know what happened to her after she quit making films, she probably lived an ordinary life with a husband and kids
Reply:Yes, Shirley Temple was a huge child star, just like Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. She was adorable and annoying!!

After her " acting " career, she got caught up in politics.

2) I think she died
Reply:yes,she grew up
Reply:yeah, she was a child star and a dancer, or something like that right?

but i dont know what happened after her acting career.
Reply:Yes I remember Shirley Temple Black.

One of the things she did after her acting career was she ran for congress. She lost but she was named an American Ambassador for the West African Nation Ghana.

Here are a few sites that give you her biography. I hope this helps.
Reply:I know who she is, but I don't really know what happened after her acting career.
Reply:Of course i know her.

But i don't know what she did after acting career
Reply:1. yeah little innoying carrot top

2. she died?
Reply:I do remember who Shirley Temple is. When I was young I used to watch all her movies on TV. She was adorable.

She became a congresswoman - her name is Shirley Temple Black now. I don't know if she's still in office, she's probably pretty old - but I always admired her having two very successful careers.

2. no

your welcome!
Reply:Here is an answer.
Reply:She was a popular child actress. She sang and danced and charmed the audience.

She married Charles Black and lives in California around Atherton.

At one time she did interior decorating.

She served as an Ambassador to Africa (I think)
Reply:Yes ofcourse I know who Shirley Temple is! She was a very popular child star many years ago. She made TONS of black and white movies that are still fairly popular today. Heidi and The Little Princess are ones that I've watched recently. My 6 year old daughter loves her movies.

Now she is Shirley Temple Black. As an adult, she was an ambassador at the United Nations. I don't know what she's doing now though... I figure she's in her 80's?
Reply:Yes I remember her
Reply:I used to watch all her movies when I was a kid. My mother was named for her...She became ambassador to (I think Ghana) As Shirley Temple Black.
Reply:Some history channel did a story on her, she was a child star, then went in to a branch of politics.

(Not recuiters, military members who will tell it like it is and not be a car salesman for the military) No. (Currently we are at war. It is like recruiting for a very high risk job, liklihood of death isn't a nice thing to do to kids. If we weren't at war, I would reconsider. The fact that it's an unethical war makes my conviction here stronger)

Reply:I don't care what the president is as long as he/she isn't Islamic or banning abortion or a damn Republican that has no compassion for the poor. Keep military recruiters out of the schools. I don't think abortion should be taught in school. Other than that I would be happy if they taught kids to read, write and speak a proper sentence. This "me and my friend are going to... " is an indication of just how low our school system has fallen.

A president that was convicted of vehicular manslaughter? Manslaughter is unintentional. So yes, if s/he is the best candidate

A president that would change welfare- only get paid for 1 kid(no more having more kids for more$) time limit, less $ overall? No opinion
Reply:Evolution taught in all public schools? As a theory, yes OK, as long as its not taught as fact. In public school we were taught that the Big Bang theory was the be all and end all......of the beginning of course ;)!

Creationism taught in all public schools? Yes!! But if Im going to be fair, then I guess I have to say yes as one possibility.

Reply:Evolution taught in all public schools?

Yes, there is enough acceptance in the scientific community, and there is bountiful evidence supporting it.

Creationism taught in all public schools?

No, the only source of evidence is an outdated book from a couple thousand years ago. Until more solid evidence can be provided, it should remain outside of formal schools. Also, what puts Creationism above the thousands of other religious theories? I'm particularly fond of the Norse theory with the dead wolf carcas. If Creationism is taugh, I demand that taught too.

Info about abortion (non bias) taught in health class?

Yes, no information should ever be withheld from anyone for any reason. People have the right to all knowledge, and should then create their own conclusions from that.

A president that went to court for murder, but didn't get convicted?

I would have to consider the circumstances for myself. Unlike the previous traits, this is a personal choice the canidate made, and should therefor influence my opinion.

A president that was convicted of vehicular manslaughter?

Again, the same as the previous.

A president that commited adultry?

See above

A president that would ban abortion?

Probably not. I believe the choice belongs to the mother. I can see that terminating an unborn fetus is a much better option than allowing it to be born into a poor or uncarring family where it will either starve to death or have a terrible life.

A president that would change welfare- only get paid for 1 kid(no more having more kids for more$) time limit, less $ overall?

I would have to research more into exactly what the options were. Welfare is in need of reform, but I probably would not support taking away aid from these families.

A president that was convicted of vehicular manslaughter? No, might not be very observant

A president that committed adultery? Yes, if I agreed with their views

A president that would ban abortion? NO every woman should be able to make that decision for their self

A president that would change welfare- only get paid for 1 kid(no more having more kids for more$) time limit, less $ overall? Yes, but there should be a few exceptions to this
Reply:Evolution taught in all public schools? Yes

An Islamic president? Yes (see above).

A president that went to court for murder, but didn't get convicted? Yes, if s/he wasn't convicted, s/he is innocent.

A president that was convicted of vehicular manslaughter? It would depend on the circumstances surrounding the crime, I'm inclined to say no.

A president that commited adultry? It depends on the person; I'd need more information to make such a decision.

A president that would ban abortion? No; if a person is willing to revoke women's reproductive rights, who know what else may go down the toilet?

A president that would change welfare- only get paid for 1 kid(no more having more kids for more$) time limit, less $ overall? I'd vote for welfare reform, but not necessarily the welfare reform suggested here.

Career Choices?

I'm a kid who has just started to consider his career choices. On the ACT Explorer, which is kind of a practice ACT for 8th graders, I scored a 99%. The survey I filled out said that I would be good for a computer type job or a science type job, like chemist or astronemer. I was very happy with this until I realized that my choice still wasn't made. Could someone answer the following questions to help me?

1. Do computer programmers, software engineers, or hardware engineers have regular work hours or can they be called to work on a project if needed?

2. Do computer programmers, software engineers, or hardware engineers have problems with their body because of their job? For example, weak eyes, stressed body, etc.

3. I don't really understand the life of a scientist. Do they have regular work hours? How do they get paid? It just confuses me because a scientists career is so different from a normal job. Could someone please explain this to me?

Career Choices?
wow three question in one

1. Depends on what industry you are working in , contract based or in house development

2. Eat a lot of sushi to alleviate those problems. Think only of solutions

3. Mostly regular hours but they also need to fight for research grant and competition are fierce. They get one lump sum to research a proposal then the rest is money management.

1-yes(curly hair)

2-no clue

i remember something - a song about a lollipop and a candyshop ........ i think that is her.
Reply:I remember her. My grandmother always would buy me her classic movies for me, when I was little. I loved watching them. I can still remember staying over at her house during the summer and watching the movies over and over again. I new all of the scripts.

I dont know what happened to her after her career.
Reply:Of course. I love watching Shirley Temple films from child star to teenager. My mom bought me a Shirley Temple doll when I was young. The doll didn't have curly ringlets or resemble her except for the dimple. After marrying a businessman she was called Shirley Temple Black. I think she raised three daughters and was active in politics for at least 30 years. My daughter likes her, too. Several months ago, we watched Since You Went Away which featured her as a teenager. Good movie.

2. She got too heavy for her on screen career, and she became a judge.
Reply:1. Yes the cute curly haired little girl who danced and sang in many movies and shows.

2. Supposedly, like many child actors, she just wasn't a child anymore so she stopped working and decided to have a family. And history repeats itself with most child actors. I think I also heard that she tried to something with politics... which is pretty much the same as when Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor of California... weird. I think she's actually still alive too.

Any advice on what career path to choose as far as benefits, income, and demand, etc...?

I am a Junior in college and registration is right around the corner... and I still do not know what career path I want to take... I have taken interest survey after interest survey, and none of them have seemed to help. I think i have it narrowed down to something in the fields of Psychology and Medical. I know that a doctor is out of the question because I do want to have a life that I can spend with my future husband and hopefully family... I have been taking courses that are required for a Physical Therapist, but i am not sure if that is the career I want to persue... I believe that I am good when it comes to advising others, which is why i thought about becoming a Psychologist.... but I am also good in human anatomy... I believe that i would enjoy making diagnosis which is why I had also thought about being a Physicians assistant. As you can tell i am still really undecided and would greatly appreciate any input. I am very concerned with demand, hours, salary, and retirement.....

Any advice on what career path to choose as far as benefits, income, and demand, etc...?
I would recommend becoming a nurse and maybe a nurse practitioner (so you can prescribe medicine). Nurses are always in short supply and they make really good money. Though both of your other ideas seem really good too. Maybe you could try and find an internship at a hospital where you could see what the different positions are and what they do. That might give you a better idea.
Reply:the one that you'd be happiest doing, and feel most fulfilled in doing, regardless of benefits, income, demand, etc...

good luck!
Reply:Don't ever let anyone tell you that you have to "choose one or the other". Whatever you're passionate about, you can find a high paying career that involves just that.

Exp. If you like teaching, that doesn't mean you have to get near minimum wage teaching at an elementary school. You could become a professor at some college and earn big bucks!

Do American woman with a drive for education and a successful career forefit a happy marriage and kids?

Survey for a research study about the "tri" role of the American woman, and the pressure of her biological clock.

Do American woman with a drive for education and a successful career forefit a happy marriage and kids?
It depends on the marriage but from what I have learned through studies is that more sucessful woman through education and their career due tend to have higher divorce rates. You know the old saying ignorance is bliss.
Reply:To some extent, yes- but not always. Many women are starting families much later these days, when they are already established enough in their carreers that they can afford to take the time off. I think that in general, women that work full time careers don't have as much time or energy to put towards their spouse and children (I am NOT saying this is always the case- I know there are a lot of superwomen out there that can do it all!!!). I think that at the present time, many women are just starting to find ways to balance carreer and home life so that they can have the best of both worlds.
Reply:I believe so and its not fair. If you want ot make good money you got to work very hard
Reply:Yes, to some degree. Time is the reason. There just isn't enough of it to go around.
Reply:no you dont forefit your marriage for a successful career you just have to make adjustments and have an open line of communication with your spouse on your life goals and commitments. Men have been working long before women and they have had some of the most successful relationships of all time now why cant women do the same .....its an ego thing because we raise our boys to support a family and our girls to take care of them...its time men start doing this too not only women and then your relationship is successful...with having a successful career.
Reply:Absolutely not...life just unfolds a little later...which might be a good thing
Reply:Not at all. That would be the same as asking if an American man would have to forefit a marriage with kids fr a career. I have 3 kids, a fiance, and a job....And our relationship is wonderfull! And for the working class in America nowdays, women almost have to have a job along with her husband to acually get by. Sometimes it is hard, I'm not denying that. But it's just something you get used to.

R&S opinions on women's roles in home and career?

What do you feel should be women's roles when it comes to career and the home? When home and career conflict, which do you think should take priority?

You can answer here or, if you wish, do so here: http://www.tigersurvey.com/survey.php?su...

Either way works, the survey is just easier to calculate data from.

(I am aware I have posted this question in 2 sections, I have done so to get a more varied response)

R%26amp;S opinions on women's roles in home and career?
Hey Goodlooking,

I prefer not to speak in absolutes - there are many variables out there. I was the main income earner for most of my 20 year marriage. While my Ex was suppose to be the Househusband he maintained a much lower standard of cleanliness than he demanded when I kept the house (%26amp; still was jobhunting). I prefer to consider my Ex's demanding/abusive behaviour is an aberation to those men in similar positions.

I've already the survey. Only had a probem with Question 3. I could think of several other options - including those when there are no local 'non-working' relatives.

Apart from that I was facinated.
Reply:I think the role depend son the circumstances with in the home. Like mine, in a month my husband will be having his second triple bypass in two years and he's not even 40 yet. So home takes a priority for me. Also I have kids, all whom I love, and want to spend as much quality time as possible while I can. Ages 15-2. I believe it just depends on circumstances and what you feel is more important individually.
Reply:Shut up, do what the man says, make dinner, vacuum, dishes, take care of the bills, %26lt;insert any robotic task here%26gt;. I am just kidding. Women should get the best job possible so should men and both should schedule there jobs around home.
Reply:don't care. whatever they feel they need to do. I'm not planning on having any kids, and i don't care about getting married. so does not apply to me.

Did you end up doing what you thought you were going to do after highschool graduation?

I'm doing an article on post-graduation life for my school newspaper, and I would dearly appreciate some feedback. If you could answer:

The questions above.

How many times have you changed career choice following graduation?

What is your current field of work?

Do you feel your schooling helped you decide what to do with your life?

I know it's more of a survey, but this was the only site I knew that can help me. If you have a post-your-survey site, I would greatly appreciate that also. =) Thanks!

Did you end up doing what you thought you were going to do after highschool graduation?
I changed my goal after graduation but only slightly. I knew I wanted to go to college and started off as a psychology major. I switched to social work just before my freshmen year started (I did the switch after an orientation in the summer). Then, during my sophomore year I picked up a psychology minor. I'm now a senior social work student interning at the Department of Human Services for the county in which I live. In the fall, I will be attending grad school to get my master's degree in social work.

So to answer your questions.

1. I only switched majors once, from psychology to social work because I was told it was a better route to do counseling.

2. Currently, I'm an intern for the Department of Human Services doing Intensive Case Management, which deals with doing regular goal plans, assessment, and check-ins with severely mentally ill adults. Originally i want to work with youth, then I wanted to do independent counseling with adults. Then, as I started my minor in psych. I realized how much I loved that field and kew I wanted to take my social work degree and work in mental health.

3. Schooling has definitely helped. It allowed me to explore to areas of interest. Also, my shadowing and internship opportunities gave me hands on experience that further helped me reach a decision.
Reply:I had plans to go to college and get a teaching degree but when I was 19 years old I started dating my now husband moved a couple times for his job. Once we moved to a permanent home I ended up working for a group home where I became a PC where I ran the house and make good money then I became a mother. This is 7 years later, I have no desire to go to college I love my life and would not change it for anything!
Reply:Never changed career choice in life. I wanted to be a manager/ leader in commercial organization and go up the ladder till I reach the top. I changed organizations four times to become Chairman of the Board at last.

I do not work any more.

Yes, schooling helped along with family exposures.
Reply:Career change twice

Schooling did not help regarding the decision I had to make in my life

I liked to travel, which I did extensively. Learned two foreign languages and live in a country not my home-land. All this I wanted to do after school. I think I'm the lucky one.
Reply:Yes! I did. I am a judge for the supreme court.
Reply:No, I didn't.

I am 25 and have just finished my M.A. in Student Development. I have changed job fields about 4 times in 4 years.

I currently work in IT (info technology).

I do feel like college helped me choose, but I did not major in anything I do currently. But hey, Yahoo! says the liberal arts degree is making a comeback in all fields :)
Reply:I've had 4 jobs (I'm 22).

I'm the Receiving Manager for a booze warehouse.

High school? No. College? Yes.

But I wake up every day wishing I was doing something having to do with what my major was in college.
Reply:Changed at least 10 times (I'm 50)

School provided skills, not help with any career decisions.
Reply:Thoughts or High school ideals are often not grounded on realities and thus after graduation, reality comes around and those ideals go hay wire.

We end updoing what we never envisaged we could do.
Reply:Ever since elementary school i wanted to be a nurse. I took medical classes offered at my Junior High. And in highschool I was a total screw up. I did graduate but I waited 3 years before I started college. I'm now in a Nursing Program and I love it! I graduate this December and never thought about changing my mind. (maybe changing my school choice but never the career). Really look into the college programs before you start or you may be in for some little surprises. Like our teacher last week just threw a test grade out because half the class failed it. I made a 95!!! I think if people can't pass the work they shouldn't get freebees like that from the teacher just so they can graduate. That's why there are so many bad nurses in this world because of school like that!

Survey for adults ages 40 - 65 (psychology related)?

For a psychology assignment, I have to survey about 30 adults, half male/female, on "developmental tasks of middle adulthood." Because I don't know 30 adults, I was hoping there were some out there who could help? Thanks for taking the time to do it!

State Gender and Age

Psychoanalyst Erik Erikson believed that middle adulthood (between the ages of 40 - 65) has developmental tasks. Rate the following developmental tasks according to how they are important to you.

1= not important at all5 = very important

1. Helping your children make the transition from home life to the outside world

2. Strengthening your relationship with your spouse

3. Helping make the world a better place by assuming leadership roles in social and civic activities

4. Achieving mastery in your career

5. Adjusting to the physical changes that occur in middle age

6. Making decisions about how to spend your "second adulthood" (meaning old age)

7. Pursuing your passions

8. Coping with your own aging parent

By the way, you need to cultivate some older friends. People of all ages have things to offer each other.
Reply:Female 60

1. 3...The help you give your children should be started early so that it seems that they can make the move with little or no help from you.

2. 3...One would hope that you and your spouse are living your lives as one, especially if you have been together for a long time.

Sadly though it is at this time in married life that some marriages fall apart and split. If they don't split, they grow closer.

3. 2...It is only important to someone who is a natural leader. If you have spend the first fifty years of your life being a follower, old age is not going to make you a leading pillar of society.

4. 3...I will bet that at this age a person has gotten as good as they are going to get and are looking more to a happy retirement.

5. 5...Those changes are in this moment and are very important. Some people handle it better than others. Sadly to say this is usually when our past life style catches up with us.

6. 4...One thing I have learned about "old age" is that it creeps up on you and is here before you can decide what to do when you get there. Personally, I have decided that I am going to be a "youthful" old woman. Most people find it hard to believe that I am sixty years old.

7. 3...Passion is something that a lot of people don't ever have. If someone gets to old age and has a passion, they usually have the resources to pursue them. My oldest brother and his wife have traveled all over the world, fulfilling their passion for travel. They just celebrated their fifty-seventh anniversary.

8. 5...I am the youngest of eight children and our parents passed in '01 and '02 and we were all there with them when they passed. At the time we all had to cope in our own way with their illness and death. During that time it was the most important thing going on in our lives.
