I remember that I found this website that you answered a survey with many questions on things you like to do and things you are good at and at the end they gave you many options on what would be a good career for you when you grow up

Does anyone know what is that website where you can figure what would be a good career when you grow up?

Does anyone out there have an "unusual" job that is willing to help me out with a short survey for school?

Hello all. I am doing this project in my honors english class at my high school that is all about exploring careers that are "off of the beaten path". It is my job to find someone that has an unusual job and interview them with 10 short questions. Anyone that is willing to help a student out please fill out the following survey.

Questions:

1. What makes your job so unique?

2. Do you enjoy your job?

3. Is there a strong demand for people pursueing careers similiar to yours?

4. What education is required?

5. What is the average salary for someone in your position? (you don't have to be specific here)

6. Are there any other careers related to yours?

7.What colleges/universities have well know programs in your field?

8. Would you suggest that young people cosider a job like the one that you hold?

9. What age is the minimum required to be in your position?

10. Is there room to grow in you position (e.g. start as a fry cook, move to management)

11. Name?

Does anyone out there have an "unusual" job that is willing to help me out with a short survey for school?
1. I am an Art Director at an advertising agency. My job is unique because I get to work in a completely creative, artistic environment mixed with business. I help create or sustain strategies and brands (etc), and it can be very fulfilling to see it pay off for a business. I get the inside scoop on many types of business, from Mom and Pop's all the way up to Fortune 500 clients.

2. I love my job.

3. Advertising has a very strong demand for creative, and well communicative people in the day and age we live in. It also is extremely competitive.

4. Usually a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or Business. Mine is in BS in Visual Communication. Kind of a blend of the two. What I do, is not all art per say.

5. Depends on where you're at geographically, how long you've been in the field, and also the size of the business you're employed at. Anywhere from $60,000 – $80,000 up up up

6. Production artists, graphic designers, senior designers, creative director, marketing communications, etc.

7. Ferris State University (MI), Cranbrook, MN, I'm sure there's a lot more.

8. Absolutely. My advice is you have to be tough as nails, have a true commitment and drive for what you do, and don't take anything personal. But the payoff is lots of fun!

9. It's not an entry-level position, usually requires anywhere from 3-5 years experience, you really gotta know your stuff. I would say minimum (usually) is 25.

10. Yes. Monetarily but also as Creative Director, Business Owner...

11. Auddi

(Hopefully this fits your criteria... I don't know many Art Director's myself)

3. Ghosts are not real I admit it, although if you are a ghost fan this is especially the job for you. Knowing alot about "Ghosts" will certanly get people to trust you more.

4. None really you just gotta pretend that you know but you gotta make sure you don't go overboard or else the people might not belive you. Even just watching the ghost shows helps.

5. It truly depends on the person that you are helping some people might pay you 500+ dollars on one visit. The average monthly salary i get would be about 6,000 dollars a month.

6. You could say that a paranormal expert is very much like my job. An actors job is very much like mine.

7. None, I have a degree in science though.

8. Probaly not you would be much better off going to college and getting a different job. My job is very hectic with the people that I go with.

9. Old enough so you look like a professional but not so old that you cant walk.

10. Not really, you could start by working at a Hotline or something but other than that I cant think of anything

11. I'd rather keep my name to my self.
Reply:1. I get to work with teenagers all day long.

Career question Which Country have more jobs in Finance?

I am a student of Finance and I just want to know in which country there are lots of vacancies and oppurtunities after completion of my studies.

If you guys have any survey link please give me.

Promised Best answer to good answer

Career question Which Country have more jobs in Finance?
Having more jobs in finance is not the same as having more opportunities for graduate. Relating your question I give the following ranking:

1: USA

2: UK

3. Japan

4. South East Asia (Hong Kong , Malaysia, Singapore)

5 Switzerland

For graduate opportunity ranking:

Switzerland offers many opportunity for a career in Finance (Investment banks and financial intermediaries) and the salary is also good for entry levels, but you would probably need to know another language such as German or French other than English.

Secondly, I would suggest you to look for London (UK), there are lots of opportunities there for a career but you would need to be quite smart during interviews as it become more and more challenging for entry levels.

In US, it vary from state to state. For jobs in Capital Markets look for New York (it is the world capital for finance). you can have quick career and a good pay at entry if you are smart and lucky.
Reply:USA and UK

I'm having a rather hard time finding anything that interest me. Besides being an Absolute Monarch of course. But I doubt that I'll recieve that oppurtunity in this lifetime.

Is there some sort of online survey that will find majors and careers that would best suite my personality?
A program in absolute monarchy would be awesome!

b. Is my career going in the direction of my goals?

c. Have I done enough research about the options I have.

d. List of my personal strengths and shortcomings (Enumerate at least three each)

a. What skills do I need to develop to achieve them?

b. What education /training will be required to achieve them?

c. What are my obstacles?

d. What are my strategies’ to overcome those obstacles?

Help me complete this assignment. I have to do a survey on 5prsns and make development plan?
Step1: Who am I

a. What are Life’s priorities (What do I Value)

I value my family and friends the most. Even by Marshall Goldsmith Harvard Business “When you look around your death bed, no fellow employees are going to be waving goodbye except your friends and family.”

b. What are my interests?

Interest cant be restricted to an activity or a task. Peter Singer a laureate professor at the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics also explains the same in his famous book Practical Ethics – “The fundamental interest that entitles a being to equal consideration is the capacity for suffering and/or enjoyment or happiness”. Hence what ever you do build an interest in that activity and you start enjoying it.

c. What aptitude, skills do I have?

Aptitude is defined as an intellectual ability of an individual to learn material sufficiently so that he can properly perform the business task required on the job. I would rate myself with an intellectual and quick mind for question asking and logic.

d. What are my achievements?

My career achievements aren't measurable in terms of milestones with accomplishments. So I finally settled on my friends to be my achievement so far in life.

e. What are my short term goals? Enlist about 2 to 3 of them.

I am motivated, responsible, and know my role in this organization. My utmost priority is just to exploit my knowledge, learning and experience so far to the benefit of this company and its growth.

f. Are they aligned with my long term goals?

Yes.

Step2: Exploration

a. Where am I going

I am on the path of learning and development. Whereby I believe I have the best of the mentors to guide me through the way to life on personal, professional and spiritual ground.

b. Is my career going in the direction of my goals?

Lord Krishna Ref;: Chapter - 2 Verse -47quote “You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty.”

c. Have I done enough research about the options I have.

One only seek for an option when the present situation seems uncomfortable. For me it is not the situation yet, where I need to start a search or initiate a research.

d. List of my personal strengths and shortcomings (Enumerate at least three each)

My strength is probably my ability to deal with people. I am pretty easygoing. I usually don't get upset easily which is also a strength factor. My weakness is that I get stressed when I miss a deadline

Step 3: Action: How do I get there?

a. What skills do I need to develop to achieve them?

Need to be consistent towards the approach by the virtue of time the goal would be met.

b. What education /training will be required to achieve them?

Definitely the current modules covered so far have given a better understanding towards the approach and style of working. Training sessions like these would not only help build a better personality but also enhance the qualities within self.

c. What are my obstacles?

Common man approach and 2Dimentional approach which gives only a narrow view. I believe with a 3Dimentional view I can draw a 4th dimension and have a better understanding towards achieving the goals of life.

d. What are my strategies’ to overcome those obstacles?

Always have a positive approach. Accept my shortcoming and vocal in accepting the same. Even in hard pressed situations manage the best as per my abilities.

Should i think about my career choices?

yesterday in class we took a career choice survey quiz thing and i got an A in being an artist but i really want to be in graphic design but should i take a art class so i can be better in graphic design but im only in eighth grade so i have plenty of time

Should i think about my career choices?
If you truly love art, work to get into an art-related field. Graphic design is considered an artistic career if that's what you want to do.

Keep in mind that you're still very young and have ample time to explore your choices or change your mind. Good luck!
Reply::D
Reply:your never to young to start learning something, and if you want to go into the graphic artist side of things, you need to be able to draw first, before you can create things on a computer. also important that you know your basic about colour and design, so its always an advantage to get a drawing / painting background.
Reply:if you think your too young to begin art classes you have a very weak mentality. so if you love art take them and keep your ambitions high...
Reply:Why not combine both. Graphic design or art is in my opinion no conflict. There are many things in Graphic design which are for artists. Be an Illustrator or a Book designer it is of course usefully to know some basics.

Good Luck Udober
Reply:haha, i am in 8th grade too, and we went to driveofyourlife.org and it is for indiana schools, and it shows what your personality shows what you should do, and i think the only reason why they do this for us is we know what to do in high school, and i am into graphic design, but i am also doing art in highschool so i have some variety! i would love to design pretty much anything!!!

What is there in the surveying career?

what makes it unique compared to other jobs out there? Just wondering..

What is there in the surveying career?
Sorry, I know of no unique characteristics that would elevate a surveying career over other careers of the same ilk.
Reply:By surveying if you mean engineering survey. It is an eye of the engineers. It gives them exact location and postion of the things. and if you mean conduction of general surveys it is not a regular career.
Reply:Surveying is one of the noble professions. While today it is mostly done with electronics, traditional surveyors use rods, chains, and transit levels to determine geographic directions and elevations. Surveyors plat subdivisions, political boundries, underground utility construction and many other projects where accurate geographic measurments are needed. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and William Clark were all surveyors at one time, so the profession has a proud heritage. It is interesting work that involves both indoor and outdoor work, problem solving and strong mathmatic skills. The University of Missouri at Rolla and Purdue University that are strong on engineering programs and could probably provide you with more in depth information. good luck
Reply:Do you mean geodetics? The job of a land surveyor entails finding the exact area of a land in a map. If you mean surveying as in census, it means knocking on doors and getting information from each household or logging on to the internet for surveys on marketable products etc. I can't really tell you much because I don't know exactly what you are looking for. Sorry.

All of my favorite contacts aspire to comedians on the Y!A stage. That may be a small dream, but a dream none the less.

Is there any online career surveys that don't require your info??

There are many good online paid survey sites which conduct market research surveys. Many of them give handsome rewards for your participation in online surveys. You have to join each of them individually and you get survey invitations by email. Rewards for surveys vary from $1 to $20 or more. Many pay for each survey you take or give you points which you can redeem for cash at a particular level. Some of them enter you into sweepstakes.

All are free to join. The so called paid surveys which charge money like $35 for you to join are only databases of such free to join companies, which you have to join individually. But only 30 to 40 out of those 500 or so survey sites are really worth joining.

The concept of being an agnostic has no reality in Scripture. You either believe that God [as Jesus Christ] exists or you don’t. As Jesus said in Matthew 12:30; ' ... he who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.’

Is it true that it's important to get a university degree in order to have a good career?

You hear it all the time, "In order to have a good career, you NEED a univeristy degree". But is this really true? Does anyone know of any surveys, or statistics that state whether or not ppl without university degrees go on to be quite successful? Or do university graduates tend to be much more successful?

Is it true that it's important to get a university degree in order to have a good career?
nope! you just have to have a great idea
Reply:Education is a good thing, but certainly not a necessity. I grew up believing that going to college was the only way to find a good job. I was 22 before I realized that was not what I wanted to do. I felt guilty for not making my parents dream come true. I'm a smart woman, lots of drive and creativity; with all of that going for me, a college degree was not necessay to jumpstart my life. I have been self employd since 1996 and I have never looked back. I own 2 separate businesses, commercial and residential real estate; I am doing well. Not to say I will never go back to school, but it will be on my own terms. I left college with an associates degree because I could not figure out what to persue. I realize now that a marketing degree would be something I am interested in; I racked my brain for an aswer like that back then.

Bottom line, discover and explore your passions; whatever they are. They will lead you to the road to success for your life and your life only. Good luck!!!
Reply:Well, put it like this...

In this day and age, employers like to see your experience in paper, you are competing against alot of other people for a high paying job...Employers are now opting more for employees with degrees... Now w/out its not a high likely chance, but it is possible. Experience + a degree??? Now consider yourself a very good candidate for a good job. I have a degree and I am making great money, I'm working on my masters right now, You might as well, what have you got to lose...Finish that degree, get in the competition, it's a mean world out there, and it's down to every man for himself....!
Reply:no that is not true. you can have someone with a high school education and they can start their own business and do better than someone with bachelors or a masters degree. Plus looking at the amount of school debt that people have to go into in order to get degrees, it is no longer worth it except for maybe job security depending on which field you go into., or income depending on what field you go into. But just having the degree is not enough.
Reply:It is absolutely possible to have a very successful career without a degree, but it's harder than getting a degree! The more education you have the more marketable you are, and the easier you will find success. It's not just a piece of paper, you actually learn stuff in the process of getting it. Learning stuff is good.
Reply:no, you can be successful with out a university degree, BUT it is better to have a university degree because there isnt a lot of opportunities for success without a university degree. Bill Gates, as you probably know, is very successful and he doesnt have a university degree (btw....he dropped out of Harvard...thats right. Harvard) however, Bill was lucky. When he dropped out, there was an opporunity waiting for him.

Most people dont have the opportunity that Bill Gates got, so they need a university degree to be successful. I think getting an university degree provides more job security and makes you look better.
Reply:well, it's not mandatory, but it makes things easier. I think you don't need a survey to figure out that on average, those with a degree make more money that those without.
Reply:no , i make over $200,000.00 with no degree
Reply:Not necessarily, and from the position of a CEO, I can definitively speak on this subject.

Now granted, higher education does have its place, but in the generalized workplace, I have seen four year graduates that sh*t from Shinola.

Common sense and the school of experience does have definite advantages as that which is derived is actual experience, not chapter after chapter of some professor attempting to share their views from the practical applications and experiences of another.

Professional occupations that are stringently regulated such as in the medical or dental field, teaching or even accounting, but to start, grow and run your own business, practical experience coupled with common sense usually is the best.
Reply:You dont need a university degree to be successful, but the odds that you are successful go up with a degree.

Bill Gates is a colllege drop out by the way.

How do I find / create a survey for my students?

I am trying to create or find a survey or questionnaire that I can use to find out my students interests in subject areas as well as their future careers. Maybe a website?

How do I find / create a survey for my students?
You will find a free career survey at this interactive site:

http://www.tctc.edu/career_survey/index2...

This is a free site that lists 42 careers and asks students to check those in which they have an interest and also has an interactive survey:

http://www.careerkey.org/cgi-bin/ck.pl?a...

You will find many other surveys by googling "career interest surveys" but most of the others charge a fee.

I feel sure you could get ideas of putting together a survey of your own as you read the questions asked on the free sites.

Depending on the age of your students, you may want to let them do some digging for information about careers on their own by using the Occupational Outlook Handbook, which is published by the U.S. Labor Department. You will find the latest version at:

http://www.bls.gov/oco/ Your school's guidance counselor will undoubtedly have a printed copy of this publication.

The students' choice of elective courses should be determined by their career interests, their talents, and their previous grades.
